Dr. Phil Slonkosky resides and practices in Minster, Ohio. A graduate from the University of Louisville School Dentistry, it was during one of his initial pediatric dental rotations as a third year dental student that he met Dr. Elliott. Dr. Slonkosky completed his pediatric dental training and Master’s Degree from the University of Kentucky, and moved back to his hometown as the only pediatric specialist in a large rural general dental practice. The practice services a number of surrounding towns and counties, and currently employs six dentists and twenty-one team members. The practice is currently undergoing an expansion project to add dedicated orthodontic and pediatric clinical space to the existing building. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Slonkosky provides both pediatric and orthodontic treatment for children and teens, with clinical interest in CEREC CAD/CAM, mixed-dentition orthodontics, and advanced dental materials.
Dr. Slonkosky recognizes the changing dynamics of the practice culture and emerging business models affecting the profession. In 2014 Dr. Slonkosky teamed up with Dr. Elliott and together they established Pediatric Dental Directions, LLC. The goal of Pediatric Dental Directions is to develop a consulting model and curriculum for doctors and their team members. In addition, there is critical focus to develop a thriving practice culture, capable of meeting the demands of change. Modern patient care is a TEAM dynamic, and if the practice is going to succeed, the doctor must have the vision to see that the entire TEAM participates in that success.
Dr. Elliott and Dr. Slonkosky lecture throughout the year to dentists, TEAM members, and residents. You can visit Dr. Slonkosky’s private practice site, Minster Pediatric Dentistry, at www.MinsterPediatricDentistry.com.
